CED6143 Psychopathology

A comprehensive survey of the major psychological and behavioral disorders as described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM- 5/ICD-10). Diagnosis, etiology, and treatment are major areas of study. Students acquire knowledge of the DSM-5/ICD- 10 classification system, diagnostic categories, and primary treatment options for major mental disorders. Includes an examination of psychobiology and psychopharmacology. Emphasizes spirituality of the client as a factor in beliefs, values, and diagnosis. Minimum grade for successful completion of this course is B-.
